Great Salt Lake Audubon and Westminster College's Great Salt Lake Institute are hosting a panel discussion on the state of the Great Salt Lake Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Bill and Vieve Gore School of Business Auditorium at Westminster.

The main emphasis will be on the receding lake. topics will include effects on human health, impacts on wildlife, legal questions and legislative issues.

Panelists include Rep. Joel Briscoe, John Luft of the Division of Wildlife Resources, Brian Moench of Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment and Amanda Smith, an attorney and former executive e director of the Utah Department of Environmental Quality.

Salt Lake Tribune reporter Brian Maffly will moderate the panel.

Audience participation will be encouraged.
