Don't be surprised to see some very serious fly fishers Thursday and Friday on the Green River.

That's when 15 teams of four will participate in Trout Unlimited's High Desert Anglers Single Fly contest on the Green River.

Money from the $2,000 per team entry fee will be used for projects on the Green and its tributaries to benefit trout and local ethical angling pursuits.

While there are prizes for winning teams and individuals for highest score, largest trout and most trout, some are of the more humorous variety.

For example, there is a biggest loser prize that goes to the first person to lose their fly. Since only one fly can be used in this contest, that could be a disaster.

There is also a prize for the best "bird dog." That is for the person with the best story for retrieving a lost fly. That might involve ropes or a swimming suit.
