Country quartet Little Big Town will headline this year's Stadium of Fire concert, the Independence Day weekend extravaganza at Provo's LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Country singer-songwriter Hunter Hayes will be Little Big Town's opening act for the show, set for Saturday, July 1, at the stadium on the Brigham Young University campus, organizers announced Wednesday morning.

"I don't think there's anyone hotter right now," Paul Warner, executive director of America's Freedom Festival, said in a statement.

Little Big Town — Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman and Jimi Westbrook — were recently named CMA Vocal Group of the Year, and won a People's Choice Award for Favorite Country Group. Their latest album, "The Breaker," was released in February, and has already yielded the Taylor Swift-written hit single "Better Man." The group won two Grammys last year for its song "Girl Crush."

Hayes is also a CMA winner, with two best-selling albums under his belt and a third in the works. His singles include "Wanted," "I Want Crazy" and "Somebody's Heartbreak."

Stadium of Fire, marking its 37th year, will also feature skydivers, youth dancers and the nation's largest and loudest stadium fireworks show.

Tickets for Stadium of Fire go on sale Friday, 9 a.m., at stadiumoffire.com, and at the BYU Marriott Center ticket office in Provo. Members of the Freedom Festival's email list will be able to buy tickets on Thursday. —
