Plans for the weekend: St. Patrick’s, FanX and basketball - all at once

• Salt Lake Comic Con's fourth annual FanX happens today and Saturday at the Salt Palace Convention Center, 100 S. West Temple, Salt Lake City. Doors open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. both days. Tickets available at the Salt Lake Comic Con website.

• "Easycore" band Carousel Kings perform tonight at Area 51, 451 S. 400 West, Salt Lake City. Opening: Abandoned by Bears, A Bad Case of Big Mouth. Show starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $18, at Smith's Tix.

• Rapper Joey Fatts performs tonight at Kilby Court, 741 S. Kilby Court (330 West), Salt Lake City. Opening: D Savage, Eddy Baker, Aston Matthews, AZA. Show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20, at Ticketfly.




• Local Irish dance groups combine for "An Irish Evening," tonight and Saturday at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, 138 W. 300 South, Salt Lake City. Show starts at 7 p.m. both nights. Tickets are $8 and $13, at ArtSaltLake; proceeds benefit the International Rescue Committee.

• Local rock heroes Royal Bliss headline the "ShamROCK Party" at the band's bar, The Royal, 4760 S. 900 East, Salt Lake City. Opening: Tony Holiday, Troubadour 77. Show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15, at Smith's Tix.

• Salt Lake City's St. Patrick's Day Parade happens Saturday, through The Gateway shopping center on Rio Grande St., downtown Salt Lake City. Parade starts at 10 a.m., and is followed by the Siamsa, in the Union Pacific Station grand ballroom, at 400 W. South Temple. Presented by the Hibernian Society of Utah. Free.

• Two games in the second round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament happen Saturday at Vivint Smart Home Arena, 301 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. The Gonzaga Bulldogs will play the Northwestern Wildcats, and the Arizona Wildcats will plays the St. Mary's Gaels. Starting times to be determined. Tickets are $65 and up, at Smith's Tix.

• Pop-punk band Avion Roe performs Saturday at The Loading Dock, 445 S. 400 West, Salt Lake City. Opening: It Lives, It Breathes. Show starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 on the day of the show, at Smith's Tix and Ticketfly and 24Tix.

• Pop-rock band Panic! At the Disco performs Saturday at UCCU Center, 800 W. University Parkway, Orem. Opening: MisterWives, Saint Motel. Show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets, from $46.50 to $56.50, at Smith's Tix.

• Indie-pop band AJR performs Saturday at In the Venue, 219 S. 600 West, Salt Lake City. Opening: Hailey Knox. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $16, at Ticketfly.

• Doom metal band Castle performs Saturday at Club X, 445 S. 400 West, Salt Lake City. Opening: Goya, Aneurysm, Barlow, Seventking. Show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 on the day of the show, at Ticketfly or 24Tix or Smith's Tix.

• Last Podcast on the Left, the comedy/horror podcast, will record a live show, Saturday at The Urban Lounge, 241 S. 500 East, Salt Lake City. Show starts at 9 p.m. Sold out.

• Folk/Americana/rock duo Jamestown Revival performs Saturday at The State Room, 638 S. State St., Salt Lake City. Show starts at 9 p.m. Sold out.
