You say you want a revolution? Green Day is happy to oblige.

The veteran punk rock band has announced a North American tour this summer, the Revolution Radio Tour, which includes a stop on Monday, Aug. 7, at Usana Amphitheatre, 5150 S. 6055 West, West Valley City.

Green Day formed back in 1986, but hit it big with its 1994 album "Dookie," which yielded the hits "Welcome to Paradise," "Basket Case" and "When I Come Around." Subsequent albums served up such well-known songs as "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)," "American Idiot," "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," "Wake Me When September Ends" and "21 Guns."

The band's landmark 2004 album "American Idiot," a "punk rock opera" raging against the Iraq War and the George W. Bush presidency, was turned into a Broadway musical.

Green Day released its latest album, "Revolution Radio," back in October to critical acclaim. The album yielded the singles "Bang Bang" and "Still Breathing."

Opening for Green Day on the tour is Catfish and the Bottlemen.

Tickets for the Usana show range from $30 to $89.50, and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at Smith's Tix.
