The Park City Kimball Arts Festival isn't going anywhere for a while.

The Kimball Art Center, which sponsors the annual event each August, and Park City Municipal Corporation announced Tuesday a five-year agreement to keep the festival on Park City's Historic Main Street through 2021.

The agreement "allows us to deepen our great relationship with Park City Municipal, local collaborators, volunteers and patrons while providing a truly world-class experience during the annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival and throughout the year," Robin Marrouche, the center's executive director, said in a statement.

The center will continue to host the festival's Friday Locals Night, sponsored by the city, to allow early access to Summit County residents.

The deal also aims to ease issues of energy consumption and traffic congestion by promoting public transportation and sustainable practices to reduce the festival's carbon footprint.

The festival will mark its 48th year in 2017 on Aug. 4-6.
