The Clark Planetarium is undergoing major interior reconstruction, which has closed the downtown Salt Lake City venue for the last two weeks.

Two parts of the planetarium — the Orbital ATK IMAX Theatre and the Hansen Dome Theatre, are reopening Saturday at 10:30 a.m., while the rest of the planetarium's exhibits continue to be rebuilt.

To say thanks to patrons, the planetarium is offering discount ticket prices for the IMAX and Dome theaters, for $4 each, from Saturday through Oct. 21.

The planetarium's exhibit spaces are set to reopen on Saturday, Oct. 22, with a "Ready Set Re-Launch" party. All three floors of the planetarium are being used for "interactive, inquiry-based learning experiences," according to a statement from planetarium officials.

"We know this is a confusing time and we are thankful for the patience and support of the community while we are making this huge transition," said Seth Jarvis, the planetarium's director, in a statement announcing the discount theater tickets.

The planetarium is located at 100 S. 400 West, Salt Lake City, in The Gateway shopping center.
