In the wake of Sunday morning's mass shooting at an Orlando gay nightclub, the pop culture news may seem to fade in significance — but popular culture is one way we come together and cope with such tragedy.

Here's what's being talked about in pop culture:

• The hip-hop historical musical "Hamilton" won 11 Tony Awards, in a ceremony dedicated to the victims in Orlando — and punctuated by "Hamilton" star/creator Lin-Manuel Miranda's heartbreaking sonnet. [BBC News, USA Today]

• In what unfortunately will be remembered as this weekend's other tragic shooting in an Orlando nightclub, singer and "The Voice" contestant Christina Grimmie died Saturday from gunshot injuries after a Friday concert. [Time]

• The horror sequel "The Conjuring 2" topped the weekend box-office, with $40.35 million. The much-hyped, and much more expensive, "Warcraft" scored a disappointing second place, with $24.35 million — though it did better overseas. [Box Office Mojo]
