What will the Mormon Tabernacle Choir add to its sound for Pioneer Day? More singing.

The world-renowned English a cappella sextet The King's Singers will join the choir and Orchestra at Temple Square for the 2016 Pioneer Day Concert, set for Friday and Saturday, July 22-23, at the LDS Conference Center, across from Temple Square. Both shows start at 8 p.m.

The King's Singers also will take part in the "Music and the Spoken Word" broadcast on Sunday, July 24. After Friday night's concert, the group will sign copies of its CDs at the Deseret Book store in City Creek Center.

The Saturday concert will be live-streamed over the choir's website (motab.org/pioneerday) and will air on BYUtv.

The King's Singers are a frequent collaborator with the choir, having appeared on its 2007 Christmas concerts and one of the Cultural Olympiad concerts in 2002 during the Salt Lake Winter Olympic Games.

Tickets for the Friday and Saturday shows are free, but must be obtained in advance on the Temple Square events website, lds.org/events, or by calling 801-570-0080 or visiting the Conference Center ticket office. Once those are gone, people can try for standby tickets on the day of the show, lining up at 6:30 each night.
