Singing legend Dionne Warwick is coming to Salt Lake City in July — to talk about music, sing some songs, and raise money for a good cause.

"An Evening with Dionne Warwick," a fund-raiser for the Utah Film Center's Damn These Heels LGBT Film Festival, is set for Wednesday, July 13, at 7:30 p.m., at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, 138 W. 300 South, Salt Lake City.

Warwick and filmmaker Ellen Goosenberg Kent (who co-directed the Oscar-winning documentary short "Crisis Hotline: Veterans Press 1") will show clips from a work-in-progress PBS "American Masters" documentary on Warwick's life, music and activism. After an onstage conversation, moderated by "RadioWest" host Doug Fabrizio, Warwick (accompanied by a pianist) will sing a couple of her greatest hits.

Tickets for the event are $35, or $25 for Utah Film Center members and passholders for Damn These Heels (which runs July 15-17, also at the Rose Wagner). VIP tickets, for $75, will include admission to a pre-event reception with Warwick and Kent, backstage at the Rose Wagner.

Tickets go on sale Friday, online at ArtTix.org, or by calling 801-355-ARTS (2787).
