The drive to help Corey Fox, the founder of Provo's Velour Live Music Gallery who's in need of a kidney transplant, is getting a big boost.

Vivint Smart Home, the Provo-based smart-home technology company, announced Tuesday a matching donation of $20,000 for the #FixTheFox benefit concert, set for Friday at Velour.

As The Tribune reported last week, the concert will feature live acoustic sets from Neon Trees and Imagine Dragons — two internationally known rock bands who got their start at Velour. Tickets went on sale Saturday, at $300 each. Proceeds will go to Fox's kidney transplant and recovery, and to cover Velour's bills while Fox is out of commission.

In a statement, Todd Pedersen, Vivint Smart Home's CEO, called Fox "a staple of the Provo community.… Through Velour, he has been bringing people together for more than a decade, so it is inspiring to see the community rally around him at this difficult time. We are moved by the outpouring of support and are honored to be involved."
