There's only one thing being talked about in pop culture today, and it's the death of Prince. Here are some of the better examples:

• Here's Ann Powers, writing for NPR: " 'I'm gonna listen to my body tonight' is the key line in the song '1999,' and Prince gave us a new way into our bodies that was brainy, full of feeling and commitedly defiant of categories." [NPR Music]

• And here's Spencer Kornhaber, writing for The Atlantic: "Coming so soon after the death of David Bowie, it's a moment to consider how deeply important iconoclasts are to the evolution of a culture. Do they change the world by trying to change it, or do they change the world through the radical act of simply being themselves? With Prince, you got the sense, usually, that it was a self-aware version of the latter." [The Atlantic]

• And the casts of two Broadway shows, "Hamilton" and "The Color Purple," ended their curtain calls with rousing musical tributes to Prince. [The Huffington Post, Entertainment Weekly]
