This week's Utah Crowd-Funding Project puts a hot mess and a cool geek together with hilarious results.

Salt Lake City filmmaker Andrea Kile Peterson aimed to celebrate her city's geekiness, and the wealth of local talent — particularly female talent. The result is "You Again," a romantic-comedy web series now shooting its first season.

Peterson plays Audra, "a dark alluring hot mess" who is roommates with her recent ex, gaming geek Zander (Zachari Michael Reynolds). Their relationship is described as "toxic and hilarious," which can't be good news for their shared dependent, a goldfish named Duck.

Peterson is creator, lead writer and editor of "You Again." She found other local female talent for the crew, including cinematographer Holly Tuckett and sound designer Rebecca Lyn Paez.

The show is in production, using local locations such as Squatter's, and is aiming for a release this June. To do that requires money, so the makers have started a crowd-funding campaign, via IndieGoGo, to raise $13,000. So far, the drive has raised $2,081, with a month to go.

Benefits for backers range from a shout-out on social media (for $10) to an executive-producer credit (for $10,000). The coolest benefit may be this: For a $150, Peterson will take the dare of putting any three food items in a blender, and consume the result on a video to be posted on social media.
