Another early entry in the Red Butte Garden summer schedule will put young people's folk music in the hills.

The Lumineers, the Denver-based folk group best known for their hit "Ho Hey," will perform at Red Butte on Wednesday, May 25.

The show is part of the band's world tour, which starts April 14 at the O2 Academy in Bristol, England. The band will play 14 dates in Europe, then 16 in North America in May and June (Red Butte is the third stop on the American leg), and will finish with two shows in July in Italy.

The band announced today its long-awaited second album will be called "Cleopatra," and will be released on April 8on the Dualtone label. The first single, "Ophelia," has been released.

The Lumineers' self-titled first album was released in 2012 and went platinum. Since then, the band has toured extensively, received Grammy nominations, and recorded two songs for "The Hunger Games" franchise.

The band's origins spring from tragedy, when vocalist/guitarist Wesley Schultz and drummer/percussionist Jeremiah Fraites bonded after the drug-overdose death of Josh Fraites, Jeremiah's brother and Schultz' best friend. The duo became a trio when cellist/vocalist Neyla Pekarek answered a Craigslist ad in 2010.

Opening for The Lumineers at Red Butte is Soak, which is the performing name of Irish folk singer-songwriter Bridie Monds-Watson.

Tickets for this Red Butte show — $43 for general admission, $38 for Red Butte members — go on sale Friday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m., via Ticketfly.
