• Haskell Wexler, the legendary cinematographer, filmmaker and social activist, died Sunday at the age of 93. Wexler won Oscars for his work on "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" and "Bound For Glory," and also shot the movies "In the Heat of the Night," "Matewan" and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," worked on "American Graffiti and "The Conversation," directed the landmark semi-documentary counter-culture movie "Medium Cool," and advocated for better working conditions on film sets.
