Garth Brooks doesn't give his fans a lot of time to plan.

The country superstar announced today that he will bring his tour to Salt Lake City — in six weeks.

Brooks will play two shows, at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31 — Halloween — at EnergySolutions Arena, 301 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City.

According to the venue, it's the first time Brooks has played Salt Lake City since July 1998, when he sold out four shows at the Delta Center (as EnergySolutions Arena was known at the time).

The Halloween weekend shows are part of the second leg of Brooks' current world tour, which starts Thursday with a seven-show run in Dallas' American Airlines Center.

Brooks has sold 136 million albums, making him the top-selling solo artist in U.S. history. He retired from performing in 2001, but came out of retirement in 2009 for a one-man show in Las Vegas. He went back to touring in 2014, and released his first new studio album in 13 years, "Man Against Machine."

Opening for Brooks on the tour is another country star, Trisha Yearwood — Brooks' wife of nearly 10 years.

Tickets for Brooks' Salt Lake City shows go on sale Friday, Sept. 25, at 10 a.m., at the EnergySolutions website. Total price for tickets is $74.98 — a base cost of $62.22, plus $4.26 in tax, a $3 facility fee and $5.50 service charge. All tickets will be sold as "best available," with a limit of eight per customer.

Smith's Tix outlets will start selling tickets — if there are any left — on Saturday, Sept. 26.
