Bad news for Donny Osmond fans in Utah: He'll be out of commission for about two months and has canceled his upcoming concert in Layton.

The 57-year-old entertainer will undergo surgery to remove a hemorrhagic polyp found on his right vocal cord, according to People magazine. Because of that, he won't be performing again until October, when he resumes his residency with his sister, Marie, at The Flamingo in Las Vegas.

Osmond was slated to perform Sept. 3 at the Kenley Amphitheater in Layton. The show was sold out, and officials at the Davis Arts Council (the nonprofit that runs the Summer Nights Under the Stars series) are working out a way to reschedule or give refunds.

Good news for Osmond, according to People, is that his surgeon, Steven M. Zeitel of Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, has performed the same procedure for singers such as Adele, Sam Smith, John Mayer and Lionel Richie.
