Utah violinist Rob Landes is marking the sixth anniversary of the death of Michael Jackson — that's today — with his own instrumental tribute to the King of Pop.

Landes has recorded a looped violin mashup of two of Jackson's greatest hits, "Billie Jean" and "Thriller" — the video for which was posted on YouTube this morning. And, yes, he wears MJ's trademark sequined glove for part of it, and the red leather "Thriller" jacket elsewhere.

Landes, born in Orem and living in Salt Lake City, plays with the Orchestra at Temple Square. He also has recorded YouTube videos covering Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" and (in a duet with pianist Aubry Pitcher) Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah."
