• The Salt Lake Bees plays its home opener against the Sacramento River Cats, tonight at Smith's Ballpark, 77 W. 1300 South, Salt Lake City. First pitch is at 6:35 p.m. (and the series continues through Monday). Tickets, from $10 to $27, available at Smith's Tix.

• Pop-rock singer Ryan Cabrera and rock band Secondhand Serenade co-headline Saturday at Area 51, 451 S. 400 West, Salt Lake City. Opening: Nick Thomas (The Spill Canvas), Runaway Saints, Wind in Sails. Show starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 on the day of the show, at Smith's Tix.

• Reggae band Tribal Seeds headlines the third annual Irie Mash-Up, Saturday at The Depot, 400 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Opening: Fortunate Youth, The Movement, Hirie, Leilani Wolfgramm. Show starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $26 in advance, $31 on the day of the show, at Smith's Tix.
