This week's Utah Crowd-Funding Project aims to give every dog his or her day — or at least playdate.

University of Utah student Madison Bishop has, according to her biography on Kickstarter, been battling papillary thyroid cancer for the last five months. During that time, her dog, a six-month-old Australian shepherd named Sobe, has been a constant companion.

But Bishop often doesn't have the energy to take Sobe out for her puppy exercise. So she has set up playdates for Sobe with other dogs in the neighborhood. This idea has grown into a website, a social networking site for dog owners called Sniff My Rump.

Bishop is trying to raise money to advertise and promote Sniff My Rump. She has taken to Kickstarter to raise $1,200. So far, she has received $206 in pledges. Her deadline is Feb. 21.

There's only one benefit for backers listed on the Kickstarter campaign: Free memberships to the site (for a $15 pledge).
