This week's Utah Crowd-Funding Project is trying to get a dialogue started at the University of Utah, using a famous set of monologues.

Student/actress Napsugar Hegedus is spearheading an effort to make the U. part of the V-Day Campaign, an effort started by playwright Eve Ensler to start "a revolution to end violence toward women and girls — including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation and sex slavery."

Part of that campaign is to stage a production of Ensler's landmark play, "The Vagina Monologues," at the U. The production is scheduled to be performed Feb. 20-22 in the Dumke Auditorium at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, 410 Campus Center Drive, on the U. of U. campus.

The production needs money, though, to pay rental fees for the theater space, technicians, lighting and sound.

Hegedus has taken to Kickstarter, to raise $1,250 for the effort. So far, the drive has received $166 in pledges. The deadline is Feb. 12.

Benefits for backers range from getting your name in the program (for $10), to a producer's credit and a gift bag (for $100).
