A Utah musician lost a gig, and earned two weeks in jail, after a fight with his now-former bandmates in Idaho.

The Associated Press reports that Samuel Cottrell, 39, of Bountiful, was sentenced Monday in 7th District Court in Idaho Falls to 14 days in jail and 2-1/2 years of probation after pleading guilty to an aggravated assault charge.

The incident happened on March 15, after a performace of the Park City-based Celtic-rock band Swagger at The Celt Pub & Grill in Idaho Falls. An argument started while the band was loading musical equipment after the show, and Cottrell hit another bandmate in the face with his instrument case.

Cottrell played mandolin for the band up until that night, Swagger frontman Rick Butler told the Idaho Falls Post-Register.

Swagger continues to perform, and will play a gig Saturday night at Piper Down, 1492 S. State St., Salt Lake City. The band is scheduled to return to The Celt for a show on New Year's Eve.
