• The Utah Jazz play host to the Orlando Magic, tonight at EnergySolutions Arena, 301 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Game starts at 7 p.m. Tickets, from $16 to $210, at Smith's Tix.

• Ballet West's production of "The Nutcracker" kicks off its annual run, tonight and Saturday at the Capitol Theatre, 50 W. 200 South, Salt Lake City. Show starts at 7 p.m. tonight, and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday. (The production returns Dec. 18 through Dec. 31.) Tickets available at ArtTix.

• The Choral Arts Society of Utah performs its annual holiday show tonight at Cottonwood High School, 5715 S. 1300 East, Murray. The Salt Lake Children's Choir and the West Valley Symphony also perform; Sterling Poulson conducts the choir. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door; proceeds go to The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program.

• Sibling country trio Dyer Highway performs as part of the Sandy Arts Guild's Christmas chamber concert series, tonight at Sandy City Hall, 10000 Centennial Parkway, Sandy. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10, at the Sandy Arts Guild website.

• Pioneer Theatre Company's production of "Peter and the Starcatcher," a musical prequel to "Peter Pan," debuts Saturday at Pioneer Memorial Theatre, 300 S. 1400 East, University of Utah campus, Salt Lake City. • The Salt Lake Symphony performs its holiday show, Saturday at Libby Gardner Hall, 1375 E. Presidents Circle, University of Utah campus, Salt Lake City. Dancers from the University of Utah ballet department will perform to Act 1 of Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker." Show starts at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10, at the door.
