This week's Utah Crowd-Funding project is appropriate for these pre-Halloween days: A ghoulish little board game.

The idea of "Bring Out Yer Dead," a new board game designed by Aaron Watts, is to get your family the best spots in the town cemetery.

"Each day, the Gravedigger brings his cart around the city to be loaded up with the day's dearly departed," the pitch for the game reads. "Compete with other families in town to ensure your family's final resting places are the most prominent in the city's newest cemetery. Watch out though! The Gravedigger is notoriously lazy. If there are too many bodies in his cart, he will just toss the extras aside in the river. And the cemetery is filling up fast! You may need to resort to other nefarious deeds to earn points, like grave robbing and grave swapping!"

The game is being made by Ginger Ale Games, a startup company run as a co-op by its game-making partners.

Ginger Ale Games is seeking to raise $35,000 via Kickstarter to put the game into production, with a goal of having it on store shelves by next summer.

So far, the effort has raised $9,804 in pledges, with a deadline of Nov. 26.

Benefits for backers range from a copy of the game (for $100) to an autographed, personalized copy in a hand-carved deluxe coffin case (for $300).
