BYU's 2017 football schedule was finalized Thursday with the announcement that October's game against Boise State at LaVell Edwards Stadium has been moved up a day.

The game will be moved from Saturday, Oct. 7 to Friday, Oct. 6, and will kick off at 8:15 p.m. MT. It will be televised by ESPN.

It will be BYU's second-straight game on a Friday, because it will play at Utah State on Sept. 29, the day before the LDS Church's General Conference.

Those are the only two non-Saturday games on this year's BYU football schedule.

The schedule features 13 games — six at home, six on the road and one at a "neutral site" — Houston's NRG Stadium against LSU in the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff.

The 2017 schedule is listed below.

Wednesday, BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe spent 45 minutes with reporters in a Q&A session about BYU sports.

Many of the questions were football-specific. Here are three of Holmoe's answers to football-related questions.

On the series with Notre Dame and whether anything new has developed about the Irish owing the Cougars a game in Provo after BYU visited South Bend in 2012 and 2013:

"No, not yet. I mean, this is something that Notre Dame eventually will have to decide how they want to do that," Holmoe said. "So right now, as I talk to people. Some people are frustrated that nothing is happening, BYU fans. But to me, I am going to say, somewhere down the road if they come play in Provo, that would be a good thing. Because they owe us a game in Provo. Or, if they don't want to play, it will be a good payday. So both of those things are good things. I am not going to worry about it right now."

On what he would say to people who want LaVell Edwards Stadium expanded and whether it is a crazy idea:
