A couple of months before the 2016-17 college basketball season begins, BYU coach Dave Rose has added another name to his young roster.

Colby Leifson, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard from North Gwinnett High School in the Atlanta, Georgia, area, reported via Twitter on Tuesday night that he has accepted a full BYU scholarship offer and will join the team this fall.

Leifson had planned to go on an LDS Church mission before beginning his college basketball career, but noted on his Twitter account that he will defer his mission plans for a year and go after his freshman season at BYU.

Leifson becomes the second summer addition to the squad.

On July 26, BYU announced that Houston transfer L.J. Rose, a 6-3 guard, will join the team and will be immediately eligible.

"L.J. will add great experience and talent to our guard line," Dave Rose said. "We're excited about the leadership he will bring on the court and in the locker room. He will make us a deeper and more versatile team."

L.J. Rose played in 82 games for Houston and made 44 starts. His career averages are 5.7 points and 3.6 assists.
