BYU's 2016 football schedule will include at least two Friday games this year.

Monday, BYU announced that its home game against the SEC's Mississippi State will be played on Friday, Oct. 14, and will be televised by either ESPN or ESPN2.

Exact kickoff time will be released in the fall.

The Cougars were already scheduled to play one other Friday night game, on Sept. 30 against the Toledo Rockets. That is the Friday before LDS General Conference weekend.

It would not be a surprise if a couple more games are moved to Friday — perhaps the October game at Boise State or the early November game at Cincinnati.

BYU will return the Mississippi State game on Oct. 14, 2017, in Starkville, Miss.

The Bulldogs last played in Provo in 2000, beating the Cougars 44-28 on Sept. 14 that year.

Sept. 3 — vs. Arizona at University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale, Ariz.

Sept. 10 — at Utah

Sept. 17 — UCLA

Sept. 24 — vs. West Virginia at FedEx Field, Landover, Md.

Sept. 30 — Toledo

Oct. 8 — at Michigan State

Oct. 14 (FRIDAY) — Mississippi State

Oct. 22 — at Boise State

Nov. 5 — at Cincinnati

Nov. 12 — Southern Utah

Nov. 19 — Massachusetts

Nov. 26 — Utah State
