By now, everybody in the free world has seen BYU's Hail Mary play that beat Nebraska, and how No. 11 ran over to the referee signaling touchdown and gave him a quick hug.

That would be senior receiver Terenn Houk getting almost as much attention as Tanner Mangum and Mitch Mathews.

And the product of Enumclaw, Wash., is loving every minute of it.

Monday night, Houk, who has undergone quite a transformation after entering BYU as a quiet, shy last-minute recruit from the Pacific Northwest, tweeted this out:

"For anyone on campus that signals a touchdown I'll be sure to drop what I'm doing and give you a "Houk hug."

Monday morning, Houk was the star of the media briefing as he described "one of the craziest, happiest experiences of my life."

Here's his description:

"Then I see Mitch out of nowhere come, and he catches it, and I am freaked out. Like, I can't believe he came down with it. And then all of a sudden he rolls in [the end zone] and I am thinking, 'did that just happen?' That never happens in real life. That's what you see on ESPN Classic. So I am freaking. I am in shock. So I look at the ref, thinking he is going to go, no, it is incomplete, or something. Because there is no way that happened. But then he raises his hands and it was the happiest moment in my life. So I run over and am like, 'Thank you.' I was outside myself. I don't even remember. I was in the moment. It was probably the dumbest thing to ever do, but I run over and hug him. Then I realize it's the ref and I'm like, 'Oh my gosh, I'm going to get a flag.' So then I run over and then I just jump on the pile and everything and it's probably the most surreal, amazing moment ever. Everybody is dog piled on us and Cosmo is there out of nowhere. I don't know where he came from. And I felt bad, because there was a Nebraska guy there, too. But it was crazy. And then I had all these people asking, 'Did you know you hugged the ref?' Yeah, I know, that was me. It was the greatest moment ever."

Houk said he had fun reliving the moment on the flight back to Provo as ESPN's SportsCenter showed the replay over and over again. The only person not amused was offensive coordinator Robert Anae, who told him he was lucky he didn't draw a penalty flag.

"It was everything you ever dream of as a football player," Houk said. "Being there, and just our little section of fans just erupted. It was awesome, and then of course, Bronco goes to his go-to [fist pump] and he's running around and I was like, 'who is that? That's Bronco.' And everybody just was so happy. It was awesome."

The field judge Houk hugged was John Roggerman of the Big Ten. Did he say anything to Houk?

"At first, when I ran over to him, he looks at me like, 'what the heck is he doing.' Looked like he was kinda scared," Houk said, then demonstrated how Roggerman stiffened up. "I felt so dumb, to be honest with you, when that happened."

Houk said he's received dozens of text messages and direct messages on Twitter from far and wide after the play.

"You just have to own it. That's it. It got blasted all over social media," he said. "I mean, I got people from my third grade, texting me like, do you know? And I'm like, 'yeah, I know.' I was there. You just have to own it and laugh at it."
