It looks like BYU's men's rugby program is picking up where it left off last year when it won its fourth national championship in five years.

Despite being a club sport, rugby is the most successful sport at BYU, year in and year out.

Saturday, BYU blasted Utah State 64-12 in Logan to improve to 5-0 on the season.

"The Aggies played hard to defend their turf," said BYU assistant coach Steve St. Pierre. "Our team came out strong, which led to multiple tries in our win."

Joshua Anderson and Win Elkington scored two tries each in the match and USU got zero tries in the first half.

BYU football player Paul Lasike did not play in the match, but Joshua Whippy and Jackson Kaka did.

Whippy joined the football program last fall, while Kaka will join this spring. Kaka is walking onto the football program after playing as a freshman for New Mexico State and then going on an LDS Church mission.

The Cougars' next game, their first one at home in 2015, is on Feb. 21 against Air Force at South Field.

They have now outscored opponents 359-47 with a 72-8 win over Arizona State, a 50-22 win over Utah, a 99-0 win over UNLV, a 74-5 win over Cal Poly and Saturday's 64-12 win over USU.
