After a so-so performance at the Maui Invitational last month, BYU 's basketball team is heading back to Hawaii for a tournament next year.

It was announced Sunday that the 2015 Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic will include BYU and seven other schools.

The seventh-annual tournament will be held at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu and will be played Dec. 22, 23 and 25 — yes, the final round is on Christmas Day.

The field also includes Auburn, New Mexico, Harvard, Northern Iowa, Oklahoma, Washington State and the host school, Hawaii.

Don't be surprised if tournament officials pit BYU against former MWC foe New Mexico in the first round, much like they had the Cougars play San Diego State in the first round of the Maui in November. The Aztecs won that game in double-overtime.

BYU, Harvard, New Mexico and Oklahoma participated in the NCAA Tournament last March.

Previous winners of the tournament include USC (200(), Butler (2010), Kansas State (2011), Arizona (2012) and Iowa State (2013).
