Looking for a camping trip close to home that can benefit kids?

The Salt Lake City KOA campground at 1400 W. North Temple is sponsoring a deal Friday and Saturday.

Campers who stay as paying guests on Friday will receive another night of camping on Saturday for $10. The entire fee will be given to KOA Care Camps, a network of 112 independent oncology summer camps for kids battling cancer.

Some 400 KOA campgrounds across the U.S. and Canada are making the same offer. To see which ones are participating, visit http://www.KOA.com.

According to KOA, about 25,000 families stayed at the 400 campgrounds.

"The kids who benefit from these Care Camps depend on the generosity of campers throughout North America," said Wade Elliott, chairman of the Care Camps Trust. "The funds raised all year long by campers has really become an essential part of the cure for these young cancer victims."

KOA is celebrating its 55th anniversary this year.
