Utah fishing organizations are holding a fundraising banquet November 17 at the This Is the Place banquet hall to announce the inaugural Utah Fly Fishing Hall of Fame Award.
The cost to attend the banquet is $65.
The event is being sponsored by the seven Utah chapters of Trout Unlimited. the Federation of Fly Fishers and Great Western Fly Fishers.
Criteria include work on conservation projects, political activism to protect resources, environmental projects, formation of organizations such as Trout Unlimited and Federation of Fly Fishers, fly fishing, enhancing the fishing resources in Utah and promotion of youth fishing and education programs.
Nominees are Dennis Breer, Robert Dibblee, Thomas Doxey, Byron Gunderson, Emmett Heath. Paul Holden, Wes Johnson, Steve Schmidt, Gean Snow, Robert Trowbridge and Roger Wilson.
The banquet will feature live and silent auctions to raise funds for the sponsoring organizations. Fly fishing author and artist Jeff Currier will be the keynote speaker.
