The Utes play in a Really Big college football game on Saturday — No. 17 Utah hosts No. 4 Washington (1:30 p.m., Fox Sports 1) in a matchup that could be a preview of the Pac-12 Championship Game on Dec. 2.

How big a game is it? Well, ESPN is in Salt Lake City for this week's edition of "College GameDay" (Saturday, 7-10 a.m.) — and that's also a Big Deal.

The only other local college game on TV this weekend is on Friday, and it's relatively early (for a change) — Utah State hosts San Diego State (6 p.m., CBSSN).

• On Friday, the NBA returns to Salt Lake City as the Utah Jazz face the Los Angeles Lakers in their home opener (7 p.m., ROOT). The Jazz travel to L.A. to take on the Clippers on Sunday (2:30 p.m., ROOT).
