This is a rare, full Saturday schedule of six conference games for the Pac-12, beginning with one that may not have seemed nearly as interesting a month ago: Colorado at USC. Yes, here come the first-place CU Buffs into the Coliseum. On to the picks:   Colorado at USC, 2 p.m. MDT, Pac-12 Networks Colorado swept the Oregon schools in the past two weeks, with an end-zone interception against the Ducks and a start-to-finish demolition of the Beavers. Now, the Buffaloes will tackle their South division schedule, beginning what what appears to be a rejuvenated USC team. Quarterback Sam Darnold has provided the jolt the Trojan offense needed. Colorado also should be able to score some points, whether Sefo Liufau or Steven Montez is the QB. Colorado has been impressive, just not to the level of a genuine contender in the South. USC 35, Colorado 27. Washington at Oregon, 5:30 p.m. MDT, Fox Oregon overcame a lot of history in launching a 12-game winning streak against the Huskies, but the programs are in much different places now than they were five or 10 years ago. Washington is looking like a potential College Football Playoff team, amid suggestions that the Ducks' dynasty could be crumbling. This might not be quite like Utah's going into Autzen Stadium and winning by six touchdowns, but the Huskies – whom I underestimated vs. Stanford last week – should win convincingly. Washington 42, Oregon 24. California at Oregon State, 7 p.m., Pac-12 Networks The Bears racked up 54 points against OSU in Berkeley last season and shouldn't have much trouble in Corvallis. The Beavers are beleaguered, in danger of going winless in Pac-12 play for the second season in a row. California 45, Oregon State 21.  Arizona at Utah, 8 p.m. MDT, Fox Sports 1 This is the earliest these teams have met in the Pac-12 era. Maybe the calendar will help the Utes break their four-game losing streak in the series. Both teams are beaten up physically, which creates some variables, but Utah should have better personnel overall. Utah 35, Arizona 21. UCLA at Arizona State, 8:30 p.m. MDT, ESPN2 UCLA and Utah are headed toward an Oct. 22 showdown at the Rose Bowl with the South title potentially st stake. The Bruins have the tougher schedule between now and then, visiting ASU and Washington State. UCLA's defense should make the difference in this one, particularly is ASU quarterback Manny Wilkins is unable to play with a foot injury. UCLA 38, Arizona State 24. Washington State at Stanford, 8:30 p.m. MDT, ESPN The Cougars are doing it again. Written off after losing to FCS opponent Eastern Washington State in the season opener and then falling at Boise State, they've responded with two victories – including a 51-33 win over Oregon that featured 280 rushing yards. Stanford will provide considerably more resistance and is hungry after after losing at Washington, but this should be a competitive game. It's just tough to picture the Cougars beating both the Ducks and Cardinal. Stanford 31, Washington State 28. – Kurt Kragthorpe
