Sundance ’16 trailer of the day: ‘Richard Linklater - dream is destiny’

First Published      Last Updated Jan 08 2016 02:49 pm

Today's trailer is for "Richard Linklater - dream is destiny," an intimate portrait of one of the independent film world's most important directors, which will screen at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, starting in 14 days.

In the film, directors Louis Black (who covered Linklater for years as editor of the Austin Chronicle) and Karen Bernstein examine Linklater's career of making movies, starting with his indie classic "Slacker" all the way through to his 2014 triumph "Boyhood."

The movie uses archival footage, interviews with Linklater on and off the set, and even his journal entries.

For those who can't get enough of Linklater at Sundance this year, mark your calendars for Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 8:30 p.m., when Linklater and director Jason Reitman ("Juno," "Up in the Air") provide a live commentary to a screening of Linklater's beloved 1993 movie "Dazed and Confused."

"Richard Linklater - dream is destiny" will screen in Sundance's Documentary Premieres program.
