Even movies that aren't playing at the Sundance Film Festival try to make news there.

Take the example of "Range 15," an action comedy whose producers tout the fact that the production companies are owned by military veterans.

The film's makers announced this week they will be on hand for the world premiere of the movie's trailer, Monday, Jan. 25, at the Indie Lounge on Park City's Main Street, one of the "unofficial" event sites set up during the festival.

"We are giving a voice to our military heroes, while standing up to defend the defining principles this country was founded on," said Melissa Jensen, one of the event's producers.

The movie boasts some well-known actors: William Shatner, Sean Astin, Danny Trejo, Keith David, Randy Couture, as well as YouTube star Mat Best and former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, the real-life subject of the movie "Lone Survivor."

Luttrell will be among those taking part in a Q&A after the trailer's premiere. Also there will be the film's director, Ross Patterson, his co-writers Nick Palmisciano and Billy Jay, and co-producer Jarred Taylor.
