This week's Pac-12 football schedule is spread over two days. With three weekends left in the regular season, some clarity is coming in the division races and College Football Playoff rankings – eventually, anyway.  Friday's game USC at Colorado, 7 p.m. MST, ESPN2 USC keeps winning under interim coach Clay Helton, while hoping for a Utah loss. The Trojans should be able to do their part this weekend in Boulder, but getting some help in Tucson might be another issue. USC running back Ronald Jones II is a player to watch in this one, after he ran for 177 yards and helped the Trojans secure a win over Arizona last week. Colorado may put up some points with quarterback Sefo Liufau, after Arizona passed for 352 yards vs. USC. But the Buffaloes were overwhelmed by Stanford's balanced offense and will have trouble stopping the Trojans. USC 38, Colorado 21.  Saturday's games Washington at Arizona State, 1 p.m. MST, Pac-12 Networks The season has been reduced to a battle for bowl eligibility for these 4-5 teams, trying to hit the six-win mark – although there should be room for some 5-7 teams this year. ASU is trying to regroup after three straight losses that have included some tough breaks with officiating, although the Sun Devils haven't helped themselves with their defensive efforts. Washington responded well after falling behind by two scores against Utah as a result of turnovers, but couldn't complete the comeback. This game is pretty much a tossup, but it just seems unlikely that ASU could lose four in a row. Arizona State 31, Washington 24.  Oregon at Stanford, 5:30 p.m. MST, Fox Usually staged in November, this has been the Pac-12 North game that everybody anticipated. Oregon's resurgence has made the 2015 meeting more meaningful than it once appeared, although the Ducks would need Stanford to lose another game even if they pull off the upset Saturday. Stanford is rolling, with its offense evolving nicely and the Cardinal now positioned for a College Football Playoff opportunity. Oregon's defense is improving, but the Ducks have had trouble with this matchup even in their best years. Stanford 42, Oregon 28.  Utah at Arizona, 8 p.m. MST, Fox Sports 1 Arizona has beaten Utah three straight times, including a 42-10 decision last November in Salt Lake City, but this is a different Ute team with big ambitions. The Wildcats showed some life in a 38-30 loss to USC after being crushed at Washington the previous week. Quarterback Anu Solomon could have some success against Utah's secondary if his offensive line can protect him, but Arizona will have a tough time with Ute running back Devontae Booker. Utah 31, Arizona 21.  Oregon State at California, 8:30 p.m. MST, Pac-12 Networks Oregon State seemingly alternates being being competitive and completely overmatched, while Cal has faded after a terrific start. The biggest question about this game whether anyone will watch it, with two important games in the same window. California 35, Oregon State 17.  Washington State at UCLA, 8:45 p.m. MST, ESPN  Even with one of the latest kickoffs of the Pac-12 season, this game should be worth the wait. UCLA needs a win to raise the stakes in the South for next week's game at Utah. WSU is looking for a strong finish, while already bowl-eligible. The Cougars' defense has improved considerably and the offense has been slowed down only by turnovers. UCLA's injury-riddled defense shut out Oregon State last week, although it is difficult to give the Bruins too much credit for that achievement. Staying with WSU will require the best work of the UCLA offense, but the Bruins have a lot of incentive in this game and should come through. UCLA 34, Washington State 31.  – Kurt Kragthorpe
