Capping off an eventful Sunday was a report that former Cal defensive end Sione Sina will transfer to play for Utah.

We can confirm that. Sina graduated from Cal with a degree in sociology and will use his final season of eligibility at Utah, deepening a rotation that includes Hunter Dimick, Jason Fanaika, Kylie Fitts and Pita Taumoepenu.

Originally from Elk Grove, Calif., the 6-foot-3, 275-pound Sina was a standout at the College of San Mateo before spending two seasons in Berkeley. He redshirted in 2013 and played in just one game in 2014, limited by injury. See his junior college highlights here.

Rather than play in spring, Sina suited up for Cal's rugby team, helping the Bears to the national championship game against BYU at Rio Tinto Stadium in May. Read an interview with Cal Athletics here.

Brooks-Brown ready to report • Also Sunday, we learned that freshman running back Marcel Brooks-Brown cleared remaining academic hurdles and will attend fall camp.
