While some have wondered about Utah's in-state recruiting efforts with the exodus of some of the state's top players in recent years, the Utes snagged one of the top uncommitted local products Monday night.

Listed at 6-foot-5, 275 pounds, American Fork's James Empey is rated as a 3-star guard by Rivals. He's the son of former BYU offensive lineman and AF offensive coordinator Mike Empey and was named to the Coaches's 5A All-State team while paving the way for Cavemen running back and Oregon State commit Zach Katoa to rush for 25 touchdowns.

The Tribune was not immediately able to contact Empey on Monday night.

With Empey, Utah now has five offensive linemen committed in the 2015 class.
