After a week off, the Pac-12 will resume its bowl schedule Saturday. Utah's 45-10 rout of Colorado State gave the conference a good start, but the rest of the schedule calls for Power 5 schools.  On to Saturday's picks: Arizona State vs. Duke, Sun Bowl, noon MST, CBS Nobody's sure what to expect from the Sun Devils after they played their way out of a New Year's Six game by losing to Arizona in the regular-season finale. And there's also the haunting thought of how ASU played last December in a Holiday Bowl loss to Texas Tech as a favorite. Actually, that experience should work in the Sun Devils' favor. ASU coach Todd Graham should have his team's attention after that performance, and Duke should have all kinds of trouble stopping ASU's offense. The Blue Devils are capable of scoring some points, as they did against Texas A&M in a bowl game last year, but ASU should win the battle of the Devils handily. Arizona State 42, Duke 24.  USC vs. Nebraska, Holiday Bowl, 6 p.m., ESPN In bowl games, every outcome seems obvious afterward. But there are so many variables in these matchups that it's never safe to assume a cause-and-effect relationship. For example, was Colorado State's playing with an interim coach its biggest problem against Utah, or were the Utes just superior? So here comes Nebraska with interim coach Barney Cotton, who will be moving to UNLV after this game as Mike Riley takes over the Cornhuskers. Even with the coaching staff intact, Nebraska would have trouble matching up with USC's offense. Assuming quarterback Cody Kessler is sharp, the Trojans should do to Nebraska what they did to Notre Dame's defense. USC 38, Nebraska 21.  – Kurt Kragthorpe
