Rep. Jason Chaffetz didn't have to break a sweat to win re-election to Congress from his deep red Utah district. So most of his political energy went into campaigning among his fellow representatives to win the chairmanship of the House Oversight Committee.

He won that one, too.

Chaffetz should watch and be watched — Salt Lake Tribune Editorial

"America, get ready to see a lot more of Jason Chaffetz.

"Not that the still-young congressman from Utah has exactly been a stranger to the nation's cable TV viewers, providing a reliable stream of quips and digs at the Obama administration during his six years in the House of Representatives.

Or maybe not.

House intel panel debunks many Benghazi theories — Ken Dilanian | Associated Press

"WASHINGTON (AP) — A two-year investigation by the Republican-controlled House Intelligence Committee has found that the CIA and the military acted properly in responding to the 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, and asserted no wrongdoing by Obama administration appointees.

"Debunking a series of persistent allegations hinting at dark conspiracies, the investigation of the politically charged incident determined that there was no intelligence failure, no delay in sending a CIA rescue team, no missed opportunity for a military rescue, and no evidence the CIA was covertly shipping arms from Libya to Syria. ..."
