Posted: 3:21 PM- Utah Blaze quarterback Joe Germaine is the Arena Football League Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Germaine, the former Ohio State star, completed 24 of 30 passes for eight touchdowns and ran for another score in Utah's 67-50 win over the Kansas City Brigade on Saturday, Utah's first win of the season.
"Joe has been a true leader on and off the field," Blaze coach Danny White said. "He has been everything that we expected him to be and is truly deserving of this recognition."
Germaine has completed 68.9 percent of his passes this season for a league-leading 3,148 yards and 64 touchdowns.
The Blaze return to EnergySolutions Arena this Saturday to play host to the Colorado Crush. The 7 p.m. game will be televised live by KJZZ Ch. 14.
