Germaine, the former Ohio State quarterback, has agreed to a four-year contract extension that will keep him in a Utah uniform through the 2012 season. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed and the agreement won't be official until it gets league approval, a Blaze spokesperson said Tuesday.
Germaine, Utah's starting quarterback in its first two seasons in the Arena Football League, finished the 2007 regular season by leading the AFL in completions (422) and passing yards (5,005) and was second in touchdown passes with 107.
His 5,005 passing yards broke the AFL record of 4,841 set by San Jose's Mark Grieb in 2007.
The Blaze open training camp on Feb. 7 and play their first game on March 1 at EnergySolutions Arena against Arizona.
