Live theater’s return to Salt Lake City’s Eccles Theater is being delayed again.

The organizers of Broadway at the Eccles told subscribers Monday night that two touring musicals will be moving off of their early 2021 dates, due to continued concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.

The musical “Anastasia,” about a woman who may be a missing Russian princess, was scheduled for Feb. 9-14, 2021. It’s now moving to Feb. 15-20, 2022.

“Jesus Christ Superstar,” the Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice rock opera recounting the ministry and crucifixion of Jesus, was scheduled to play March 30 to April 4, 2021. It’s now postponed to a date to be announced, but will still be part of the Eccles’ 2020-21 season.

Subscribers can hold onto their tickets, which can be used for the rescheduled dates.
