Teapots spout off at Kimball Art Center in Park City

"Teapots: Object to Subject," opens at the Kimball Art Art Center today and continues through May 25. The exhibition takes a closer look at what is normally considered a simple utilitarian vessel. The 45 objects included in the exhibit were selected from among the finest entries in the 2004 Survey of Contemporary American Teapots at the Craft Alliance in St. Louis, curated by Leslie Ferrin; 638 Park Ave., Park City. In the family: The Eccles Community Art Center presents a father and daughter photography exhibit featuring the work of Paul W. Muller and Debra Muller through April 26. Paul Muller purchased his first 35mm camera, "a sweet Leica," as a naval pilot in World War II. Debra Muller studied photography at Weber State University. The exhibit is in the Carriage House Gallery at 2580 Jefferson Ave., Ogden. How do you like them apples? Apple Frame Gallery, 70 N. Main St., Suite 104, in Bountiful opens "Women Paint," featuring the work of Kate Starling, Barbara Edwards, Diane Turner, Shanna Kunz, Colleen Howe, Linda Curley Christensen, Linda Budd, Susan Gallacher and other Utah women artists. Koto and origami: The Springville Museum of Art hosts Community and Family Night on the first Monday of each month. This Monday at 6 p.m., the museum features Haruko Sadler playing the Japanese koto and teaching an origami lesson. Admission is free and open to the public; 126 E. 400 South, Springville. SUU portfolio show: Graduation time is near. The Southern Utah University Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery will display the Senior BFA Portfolio Show from April 10 to May 3. The exhibit features media ranging from ceramics and charcoal, to digital photography and design. There will be an opening reception and awards ceremony at the gallery on Thursday, 7 p.m. The reception is open to the public and admission is free. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 7 p.m., and is on the ground floor of the Braithwaite Liberal Arts Center building on the east end of the campus. Admission is free.
