Amazing Race

Sundays, 7 p.m., KUTV Ch. 2

What happened?

In this all-star edition, 11 teams of past "Race" participants left Miami for Ecuador, where they wrangled wild horses and cut their hooves and tails. "Race" and "Survivor" vets Rob and Amber, the reality-TV house-guests who won't leave, came in first. John and Jill were eliminated.

Bald buddies Kevin and Drew whined through a terrible performance: Kevin lost a footrace in Miami to "little person" Charla, Drew tripped in a Quito plaza and hurt his shoulder, then they blew out a tire and drove over mud on the rim.

The Apprentice: Los Angeles

Sundays, 8 p.m., KSL Ch. 5

What happened?

The teams signed up mall crawlers for a chance to win a $1,000 vacation, which sounded easier than it was, especially since few of the wannabe apprentices speak Spanish. The language barrier doomed Aimee's team, and she was sent packing with steam coming out her ears. Channel that anger, or it will eat you alive!

Watching Tim and Nicole make out in the hot tub was icky. "Tim's so cute, isn't he?" Gag me! This is business, people, not an audition for "The O.C." If you can't put work before play, you might be canceled, too.

American Idol

Tuesdays, 7 p.m.; Wednesdays, 8 p.m., KSTU Ch. 13

What happened?

Could this be the worst set of finalists in "Idol" history? The guys were a horrible mess vocally, and only a few girls sung like they belonged on stage. And boy, were they amazing! Two males and two females were cut, but the name to remember is LaKisha Jones, who blew the socks off the judges - and us.

Best whine & cheese moment

Sweet little Sanjaya Malakar cried again on camera. Time to toughen up kid.

Survivor: Fiji

Thursdays, 7 p.m. KUTV Ch. 2

What happened?

The harsh environment and challenges are starting to punish the players. Gary (aka "Papa Smurf") took a hard fall in a slippery slide challenge and may have broken a rib. Ultimately, Sylvia the architect just couldn't design an escape route from all the conniving and was booted.

Sylvia said "I've been had" when she was voted out. C'mon, you were walking around the island for more than a week with a target on your head, and you just realized you would be booted?
