There's such a barrage of reality shows swallowing up our television time, it's hard to keep track of who's schmoozing whom and who's been doing the backstabbing. Here's the cooler talk about last week's episodes of some of your favorite reality fare, written by The Salt Lake Tribune's resident unscripted-TV buffs. (Warning: Spoilers ahead. If you didn't watch last week, read at your own risk.)

The Amazing Race

Sunday, 7 p.m., KUTV Ch. 2

What happened?

After eating camel-burgers in Casablanca, four teams flew to Barcelona - where two teams walked the street in giant carnival costumes while two others were pelted with tomatoes as they searched for a clue. The hated Barbies, Dustin and Kandice, left, were eliminated just before tonight's final leg.

What were they thinking!

Rehab boys Tyler and James used a smart strategy: Tailgate the Barbies - who, being "marked for elimination," would have faced a 30-minute penalty if they hadn't come in last place anyway.

Best whine & cheese moment

Kimberly quit on Rob twice during the tomato hunt, with Rob calling her a big baby for crying over a few tomatoes to the head. Dibs on the reality-show rights if these two get married after the race.

Who should get booted

Tonight's the finale, so who's going to win? Root for Alabama moms Lyn and Karlyn, but bet on the rehab boys, who seem to be the only ones who haven't lost their cool.

America's Next Top Model

What happened?

It was the "battle of the blondes" as Eugena was sent home and CariDee, left, and Melrose vied for the title. Melrose, nearly paralyzed by perfectionism, rocked the runway show, while CariDee shone with her CoverGirl ad. CariDee's looks and personality proved more exciting to the judges, and the 21-year-old photographer who overcame a skin disease won.

What were they thinking!

Melrose lost it during the ghostly bride runway show when CariDee accidentally stepped on her train and ripped it. "Calm down, this isn't a crazy scene," Jay told Melrose backstage.

Best whine & cheese moment

It's hard not to feel sorry for Melrose, her cloying teacher's-pet smile and all. No one liked her, and she seemed to be the only one who thought she could win.

Who should get booted

CariDee's win in the show's seventh cycle marks a first - she's a blonde. But she's not the first winner from North Dakota. She shares that distinction with Nicole, from cycle five.

Survivor

Thursday, 7 p.m., KUTV Ch. 2

What happened?

Ah, the heartwarming meet-the-family episode. Family members visited. Contestants cried. Viewers gushed. Meanwhile, the new Aiututonga tribe still is a tribe divided. Despite a four-to-two division of old tribal lines, the brash and conniving Jonathan, below, just could not last one more day annoying the group. So the man with the funny hat was booted.

What were they thinking!

Boy, should the former Auitus feel bad. Disgusted they lost the last challenge, the Auitus hid any food to keep the others weak. When the former Raros returned from their reward, a picnic, they brought back food for the whole tribe.

Best whine & cheese moment

When the family members walked on to give their loved ones in the game a hug, you needed a mop to wipe up the salty tears. Excuse me while I cough up the lump in my throat.

Who should get booted

Now that Jonathan's out of the picture, the pecking order looks like this: Adam then Parvati.
