French Connection: On Monday, the Intermezzo chamber concert series continues with "French Connection," an all-French program featuring several of Intermezzo's most popular performers, including Karlyn Bond, Lun Jiang, Roberta Zalkind and Pegsoon Whang, who have performed in all of Intermezzo's seasons so far; this is their fifth.

"Their concerts have been especially well received," says series organizer David Porter.

The concert, at 7:30 p.m. in Vieve Gore Concert Hall on the Westminster College campus, includes Fauré's Piano Quartet, Widor's "Suite" and Franck's "Piano Quartet." Tickets are $15, $12 for seniors and free to all students with ID. For tickets or information, call 801-832-2457.

Scottish pipes: On Monday at 7 p.m., Salt Lake Scots will perform bagpipe music and drumming as part of the Mondays at the Park series at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City.

Choir auditions: The Salt Lake Children's Choir will hold auditions for singers ages 9 to 15 during the first two weeks of August, beginning Tuesday. Instrumental background is desirable but not necessary. Call 801-537-1412 for an appointment and information, or visit http://www.childrensing.com.

More Deer Valley Festival: The Deer Music Festival continues this week with performances that range from Broadway tunes to bassoon concertos. On Wednesday, The Utah Symphony performs a tribute to Haydn and a concerto for bassoon with guest Lori Wikes at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church, 1505 White Pine Canyon Road, Park City, at 8 p.m.

The Muir Quartet performs another chamber music concert with the orchestra on Thursday, also at St. Mary's Assumption Church at 8 p.m.

Friday's "Pictures at Exhibition" will takes audience on a journey through the halls of a museum. Keith Lockhart leads the orchestra; guest soloist is 13-year-old violinist William Hagen of Salt Lake City. And Saturday, the orchestra goes pop with "Bravo Broadway," a compilation of Broadway showtunes with soloists Christiane Noll, Kip Wilborn and Doug LaBrecque. Gerald Steichen conducts.

Both concerts are at Deer Valley Resort, 2250 Deer Valley Drive South, Park City, at 8 p.m.

Juilliard workshop: The Horne School of Music at Snow College and the Juilliard School of Music team up for the second "Juilliard Goes to the Mountains Rhythm Section Workshop," which begins Thursday and continues through Saturday at the Eccles Center for The Performing Arts on the Snow College campus in Ephraim.

The workshop focuses on teaching participants key elements of jazz and prepping for a career in music. The workshop also includes concert performances, starting with the Snow College Jazz Quintet and the Juilliard Jazz Trio on Thursday; tickets for this performance are $8, $5 children or $32 for families.

Friday and Saturday performances are concerts featuring workshop participants, and tickets for these performances are $5, $3 children or $25 for families.

All performances are at 8 p.m. at the Jorgensen Concert Hall inside the Eccles Center. Call 435-283-7465 for information.

Concert band: The Murray Concert Band celebrates its 20th anniversary with a concert at the Murray Park Amphitheatre, 495 E. 5300 South, Murray, on Saturday at 8 p.m. Admission is $5, $3, children and seniors, available at the gate.

Harp class: Applications for Universe City's Harp master class, taught by Sue Richards of the Ensemble Galilei, which primarily plays Celtic music, are due Aug. 11. The class is Aug. 27 at 4 p.m. in Universe City's galley, 2556 Washington Blvd., Ogden. The cost is $50.
