Tequila!

The deadline is fast approaching -- Dec. 14 -- for the 1800 Tequila "Design Your Own Bottle" contest. While not local, it seemed worth noting, and in the spirit(s) of the season. Students to tattoo artists and artists of all sorts are invited to compete to have their artwork featured on limited-edition bottles of 1800 Tequila. The tequila giant is commissioning artists from around the world to upload their work onto www.1800Tequila.com, where artists can see their designs come to life on the tequila bottles, and their family, friends and any consumer can purchase these exclusive bottles. A quick Christmas gift -- and possible decent profit for the company. In the realm of the nearly real, though, one artist will receive a commission of $10,000 for use of their design in the brand's 2009 national advertising campaign. Your chances might be better than the lottery. For more information visit "Design Your Own Bottle" at www.1800Tequila.com.
