Marc Fleisher, the agent for Mehmet Okur, met with Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor for a little more than an hour Tuesday afternoon and left EnergySolutions Arena saying no decision had been made concerning Okur's contract.
"As of now, it looks like he'll still opt out," said Fleisher, who planned to talk with Okur again and might push a 10 p.m. deadline to make official a decision.
Okur is due to make $9 million this season and would become a free agent should he opt out. The Jazz and Okur have talked about a possible extension, but Okur would still be playing for $9 million this season under those terms.
There was no word about Carlos Boozer's opt-out decision, though speculation continued that Boozer would not opt for free agency. Boozer will make $12.7 million this season, but is believed to have found a barren free-agent market.
The free-agent negotiating period will begin at 10 p.m. tonight.
